Innity stands up for children’s rights with UNICEF
Innity announced its support for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to help advance the realisation of child rights in Malaysia. As part of the collaboration, Innity will support the broadcast of UNICEF’s advocacy and fundraising messages in 2011 via banner advertising, through its network of local, regional and international websites.
“The alliance with UNICEF is an important step forward for Innity’s efforts in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) thus communicating the significance of social responsibility for our company”, said Mr Phang Chee Leong, CEO of Innity. “Respect for human rights and taking ownership for the effects of our business on the environment remain key priority areas for Innity and its stakeholders. We hope that our efforts will help UNICEF Malaysia gain the support and awareness they need in order to make a long and lasting difference in the lives of children in Malaysia and around the world.”
Innity’s aim is to draw netizens to the UNICEF Malaysia website to learn more about child rights. This would include: access to quality health and education services for all children, strengthening social policies for the most vulnerable children, and providing comprehensive protection services for children and young people.
UNICEF Deputy Representative to Malaysia Mr. Victor Karunan said the support from the corporate and business sector is crucial to protect the rights of all children, everywhere.
“In a digitally connected age, UNICEF views digital communication and marketing as critical tools, because we are constantly seeking out new ways to share information on the issues affecting children as well as garner support for UNICEF’s programs through channels that have maximum reach .We are excited about this partnership and are happy that Innity has offered to support our efforts in raising awareness about children’s rights through their extensive online advertising network. Protecting children’s rights is a shared responsibility that can only be met with creative partnerships such as this,” said Mr. Karunan.
